The number of deaths and injuries at construction sites in the valley has skyrocketed. Now construction workers are pushing state lawmakers to pass a bill that would help make construction sites safer.
Friday, the state Assembly’s Commerce and Labor Committee listened to dozen of construction workers who want mandated safety training.
12 people lost their lives while working on the CityCenter project in the last 18 months. Construction workers blame the on lack of safety training, while others blame the building boom and the rush to get projects done.
