Safety Culture Plus

Much has been said about "process" but most of us do not follow a true process. We get caught up in day to day events that take us away from our true intent – to be truly effective safety and risk control professionals. Managing time is not a process but should be a part of your overall process.  Where I see us (me included) falling down is in establishing the true vision as to what we are about and holding to the discipline to maintain that vision.  All the books and text I have read (most recently, The Highest Goal by Michael Ray and Peter Senge’s 5th Discipline, again) say we must clearly identify and articulate our vision (what we intend to do) based on our purpose (why we believe it important or essential).  Look at the success of Steven Covey’s body of work on this topic.
