Detectives are examining the cause of a fatal industrial accident at a Hunter Valley coal mine this morning.
About 3am today, a 34-year-old Maitland man was working underground in the mine on Stoneycreek Road at Glennies Creek near Singleton.
Inquiries into the incident continue, however it appears that the man may have been struck by a piece of machinery while working underground.
The man suffered head injuries and died at the scene.

A 37-year-old Plymouth man has been killed in an industrial accident in Crapstone, Yelverton.

Police attended a report of an industrial incident at Yelverton Business Park at approximately 1.20pm yesterday.

Pallets full of dry plaster powder were being unloaded from a lorry at the time of the accident.

A demolition worker was flown to Mission Hospitals in Asheville after an accident at the old Ecusta site in Brevard Monday morning.

At 10:44 a.m. the Brevard Fire Department received a call that a person was pinned in an industrial trackhoe, according to Assistant Fire Chief Bradley Elmore.

“Upon arrival rescue workers found a 35 foot, 12 inch steel pipe that has fallen from the third floor of a building under demolition,” Elmore said in a press release issued Monday afternoon.

Man killed in industrial accident | Jackson County Floridan

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man was accidentally killed in an industrial accident Thursday.
Rufus Dudley, 48, was struck by a 12-foot two-by-four Thursday at 3 p.m. after it was ejected from a planer machine at Spanish Trail Lumber in Cypress.
Dudley was struck in the upper torso and died at the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Industrial Accidental Death at Spanish Trail Lumber

On March 26, 2009 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Deputies responded to Spanish Trail Lumber in Cypress in reference to an industrial accidental death.  It was learned the victim, Rufus Dudley, 48 years of age was struck by a 12 foot 2×4, after it was ejected from a planer machine.  Dudley was struck in the upper torso and as a result died on the scene.

Officers responded, accompanied with EMS, in reference to an industrial accident. A 54-year-old man sustained severe injuries when he was struck in the pelvic area by a pipe he was testing. The man was conducting hydrostatic tests on the pipe when it apparently exploded. He was rushed to Spohn Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Detectives are conducting inquiries after a railway worker was killed and four others were badly hurt in an industrial accident near Telarah, in the Hunter Valley, overnight.
Just after 11pm yesterday (Tuesday 24 March), a number of workmen were upgrading a section of the coal rail line south of the Telarah township when four lengths of steel – that were being moved by a crane – came away and trapped them.
One man sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene.

An employee of the State Garden produce market in Chelsea was killed Friday when an elevator fell on him.

The 35-year-old was working in the elevator shaft when rigging meant to keep the elevator in place apparently gave way and crushed him at about 4 p.m.
